PITTSBURGH, Jan. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- "I witnessed explosions and saw that manhole covers blow off, which is a real danger," said an inventor from St. Paul, Minn. "To keep manhole covers securely in place and to prevent unauthorized tampering, I came up with this improved manhole cover design."
He developed the SAFETY CAP W/KEY & CADDY ARM to lock in place to prevent unauthorized access. This prevents anyone or anything from entering and also keeps out explosives. This is designed to help deter terrorism. The cover remains securely in position. Additionally, it retrofits to existing manholes.
The original design was submitted to the Minneapolis sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
