More than 467 submissions were received from across the globe for the official selection slots. Close to 100 independent TV pilots, web series and short films will be screened at the festival, along with a series of panel discussions and workshops.
"ITVFest is the world's largest, most accessible and longest running independent television festival," said Philip Gilpin, ITVFest Executive Director. "Every year, the quality of the shows gets better and this year, many of the shows rival anything you can see currently on network TV. Dover is the perfect destination for the festival, allowing for relaxed gatherings and casual interactions throughout the weekend. We can't wait for it to begin."
With the majority of today's visual content being created outside of the major networks & studios, independent artists have become a central force within the entertainment industry generating their own sustainable revenue streams and fan bases solely on the merits of their outstanding talent and engaging content. ITVFest judges reviewed every submission that came in, watching each show at least twice before scoring and determining the final selections. Shows selected for this year's festival include documentary/reality shows, short films, web dramas, web comedies, television dramas, television comedies, and animated shows.
