IVCi and Adelman Travel Announce Unified Video Travel Service (UVTS)

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- IVCi, LLC (www.ivci.com), a leading integrator of high-definition video conferencing solutions, TelePresence systems, audio visual equipment, and managed conferencing services, and Adelman Travel, a leading business travel management company, today announced the launch of their Unified Video Travel Service.

This unique service allows organizations to offer video meetings as an alternative during the booking of travel via Adelman's web portal.  When video is available between the cities being traveled, the system will notify the user and recommend the alternative.  If a user does not elect the video option, their reason for declining will be tracked and recorded.  If video is accepted, the system will book the video call directly and participants will only have to enter their respective meeting rooms at the booked time and the video meeting can begin.

As part of this first-of-its-kind offering, IVCi will provide reporting on video usage and travel avoidance.  All video calls will automatically calculate in real-time the road and air miles that were avoided as well as the cost of the actual ticket for each person that didn't travel.  This allows finance and procurement to monitor the ratios of actual cost of travel spent versus the total cost of travel avoided.  In addition, calculated miles allow visibility into carbon dioxide saved.  The return on investment (ROI) of a video conferencing system suddenly becomes far greater and much easier to realize.
