On Feb. 3 and 4, Cy-Fair ISD will bus 4,000 students each day to the Berry Center on Barker Cypress Rd. in Cypress, TX for the two-day long event. During that time, students will be able to explore career possibilities based on their personal aptitudes in English, math, science and reading.
"JA Inspire is timed to utilize that information and help students to relate it to real companies and potential jobs," Rick Franke, Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas President said. "It is all about empowering kids to understand their options early enough, so they can make intelligent and informed choices regarding their futures."
Representatives from Exxon Mobil, PwC, LyondellBasell, Microsoft, AT&T, Group 1 Automotive, Chase Bank, the United States Navy, and more will open the eyes of thousands of students to the wide range of possible career opportunities. By participating in hands-on activities at each company's booth, students will have a unique chance learn about the jobs of the future in industries like energy, health care, finance, technology, government and more.
During five breakout sessions throughout the day, students will hear from inspirational speakers and participate in activities designed to provide an in-depth look at careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), business and industry, public service, arts and humanities and multi-disciplinary professions. Whether off to college, junior college or trade school, each student will learn about the work and preparation needed to reach their goals and obtain the career of their choice.
