SAN FRANCISCO, June 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ticketfly, the technology company reimagining the live event experience, and a subsidiary of Pandora (NYSE: P), announced today that Jam Productions, one of the largest independent concert promoters in the United States, is the latest to join the Ticketfly platform. Ticketfly will be the exclusive ticketing provider for three of Chicago's best venues—the Riviera Theatre, the Vic Theatre, and Park West—plus select Jam events throughout the midwest. The deal illustrates Ticketfly's successful and increasingly aggressive move upstream into larger venues and promoters. It also rounds out the company's national footprint: Ticketfly now holds leadership positions in the country's top three live music markets—New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Jam Productions has been producing events in the greater Chicago area, the Twin Cities in Minnesota, and numerous markets around the country for more than 40 years. Run by music industry veterans Jerry Mickelson and Arny Granat, Jam has worked with every top name in the music industry from Bruce Springsteen to U2, Radiohead to Adele, and thousands of others.
"If you told me 25 years ago when I was getting my start in this business that I would be working with Jerry and Arny one day, I wouldn't have believed it," said Andrew Dreskin, co-founder and CEO of Ticketfly. "These guys are living legends and were part of that first wave of promoters that created the concert business as we know it today. We're honored that they've chosen to work with us, and are thrilled to welcome them to the Ticketfly-Pandora family."
"Ticketfly has always been one of the best technology partners in the business and now that they've joined Pandora they're able to offer something nobody else can," said Jerry Mickelson. "We've never been more excited about the potential to completely change the way we market and sell tickets to our events, and we're confident Dreskin and his team are the ones to make it happen."
This deal solidifies a major foothold in Chicago for Ticketfly, where it already works with numerous leading venues such as Reggies, The Hideout, Subterranean, and Beat Kitchen, and has a significant festival presence via longtime clients Pitchfork Music Festival and Riot Fest. The company plans to use this latest partnership to spur further growth in Chicago and other midwestern markets.
Jam Productions is the latest in a steady drumbeat of major client signings for Ticketfly since being acquired by Pandora late last year. In rapid succession, Ticketfly has added Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, Memphis in May, RPM Presents (formerly Pacha), and many more notable venues and promoters to its client roster.
Every month, nearly 80 million users spend an average of over 23 hours listening to Pandora. Ticketfly clients can market their events to a massive audience of listeners through highly targeted placements on Pandora's platform, as well as use Pandora and Ticketfly's trove of data to inform talent buying decisions. Together, Ticketfly and Pandora aim to change the future of live events by making both event discovery and purchase so seamless that fans never miss a show they love, and artists and promoters leave fewer tickets unsold.
"Each new deal is further validation that bringing live and streaming music together under one roof is a win-win-win for fans, artists, and promoters," said Sara Clemens, COO of Pandora. "We're helping venues and promoters book the right talent, promote their events, and build their brand and audience—ultimately helping them to sell more tickets and make more fans happy."
Tickets to Jam Productions shows go on sale with Ticketfly starting Friday, July 8th on ticketfly.com.
