SAO PAULO, Sept. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The former U.S. Secretary of State James A. Baker III signed the foreword of the second edition of Mario Garnero's book Brazil in the World, an essay about the Brazilian role in the world trade market. Secretary Baker and Mario Garnero first met in the early 1980s when Garnero organized President Ronald Reagan's visit to Brazil. Both have a close relationship that goes on until this day.
Their next project, which will start in January 2014, will honor Mr. Garnero's work and development at the biofuels market through the creation a research group at Rice University's James Baker Institute entitled "Mario Garnero Latin America Energy Fellow". Based in Houston, TX, the group will be sponsored by Brazilian University UNIESP and the Baker Institute and it will focus on the development and research of alternative forms of energy.
