Dr. Janet Hamilton added to the Jensen Quality Growth Fund Board of Directors (JENSX)

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore., Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --  Portland State University Associate Professor Janet Hamilton has joined the Board of the Jensen Quality Growth Fund (JENSX), effective October 19, 2016. The addition of Professor Hamilton as an independent director increases the size of the Jensen Quality Growth Fund Board to six directors, five of whom are independent.

Janet has been on the faculty of the School of Business at Portland State since 1986 and also serves as the Finance Area Director. She has taught extensively in the University of Oregon Executive MBA program and previously served on the faculty of Washington State University.  Prior to her move to academia, she was engaged as an applied economist for CH2M Hill, an international engineering consulting firm.

Dr. Hamilton is a CFA® charterholder and has served in several capacities on the CFA Society of Portland (CFAP) Board of Directors, including President. In conjunction with the CFAP Board, she developed and then taught an applied Portfolio Management class at Portland State University that manages the funds of the local Society. Twenty years later, CFAP funds continue to be actively managed by Portland State students.

Professor Hamilton's current research interests revolve around the relationship between environmental, social and governance (ESG) characteristics and firm performance. Her research has been published in various outlets, including Journal of International Finance, Journal of Management, Structural Equation Modeling, Journal of Financial Education and Journal of Marketing Education.
