Jason Hope of Scottsdale, Ariz. Sponsors Association of Arizona Food Banks
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Arizona entrepreneur and philanthropist Jason Hope is pledging support for the Association of Arizona Food Banks (AAFB), an organization that works tirelessly to keep food on the tables of struggling Arizonans.
"Along with others, I am shocked that one out of every five children in Arizona lives in poverty," said Jason Hope. "We live in a time when no child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from."
The Association of Arizona Food Banks provides families with resources to locate emergency food supplies and also works to address the larger, long-term issues associated with poverty and hunger.
"This association is battling hunger on all fronts," Hope added. "Not only are they guiding individuals to food in emergency situations, but working to eradicate hunger completely in the state. It's a privilege to support such a great organization."
AAFB has launched innovative initiatives to provide food to as many people as possible. The organization works with individual food banks across the state.
About the Association of Arizona Food Banks
Established in 1984, the Association of Arizona Food Banks is a private, non-profit organization serving five-member regional food banks (Community Food Bank, Desert Mission Food Bank, St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance, United Food Bank, Yuma Community Food Bank) and a network of nearly 1,700 food pantries and agencies. As one of the first state associations in the nation and an inaugural partner state association of Feeding America, AAFB was instrumental in the development of a statewide gleaning project, and our advocacy efforts have brought about beneficial state and federal legislation for our member food banks and the people they serve.
