SUNRISE, FL, June 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Jazwares LLC is proud to announce the launch of merchandise based on Rooster Teeth's world-renowned western anime series RWBY (pronounced "Ruby") at Hot Topic beginning May 2016. The licensed products will include exclusive apparel, accessories and more from Bioworld Merchandising Inc. throughout 2016, along with vinyl figures, chibi blind box figures and plush with a toy line expansion in 2017 from Jazwares.
"RWBY is an incredible property that has captured a growing and very loyal fan base," said Laura Zebersky, Jazwares' EVP and Chief Commercial Officer. "Fans can't get enough of RWBY and we are very excited to provide them with RWBY merchandise."
"It's a testament to the power of the Rooster Teeth community that RWBY is now standing on the same mass retail stage as some of the biggest licensed properties in the world," said Matt Hullum, CEO of Rooster Teeth. "We're incredibly proud of this series, and of the people who have made it possible, and we can't wait to share these exciting characters and stories with the rest of the world."
RWBY is Rooster Teeth's award-winning animated series that tells the story of four different girls brought together for one legendary purpose. Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang are students at Beacon Academy, an ancient school designed to train the monster-slayers known as Hunters and Huntresses. Unfortunately, monsters aren't the only threat to the world of Remnant, and if these girls want to graduate, they'll have to learn to work together both on the battlefield and in the classroom.
"Our customers have been screaming for RWBY for quite some time! So we are more than excited to be launching this hot anime property with Rooster Teeth and Jazwares, two of the most fun and creative partners that have been a perfect fit for Hot Topic!" said Cindy Levitt, Senior Vice President of Merchandise and Marketing for Hot Topic. "We can't wait to do more!"
Licensing for RWBY is managed by the licensing division of international toy and licensing company Jazwares LLC.
