MORRISTOWN, N.J., June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has named Raemon Mallin as manager of Emergency Preparedness. In addition to being JCP&L's main liaison with federal, state and local emergency preparedness organizations, Mallin also will oversee several new preparedness initiatives designed to help ensure the company continues to respond quickly and effectively to emergency events, including weather-related system damages.
"Rae's experience in our storm restoration response efforts, coupled with his project management background, make him the right choice to oversee our emergency preparedness efforts," said Jim Fakult, president of JCP&L. "Rae will be in charge of implementing new processes and tools designed to improve our response to storms and shorten the length of major outages."
Mallin joined JCP&L in 2003, working in project planning and contractor management. Over the years, he transitioned from utility operations, including line work and substations, to becoming a project manager in JCP&L's engineering group. He succeeds William Stevenson, who retired earlier this year, as manager of Emergency Preparedness.
Prior to joining the company, Mallin was an officer in the United States Navy. He also served in the New Jersey Army National Guard, where he was commander of a transportation company.
Mallin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Monmouth University.
