JDRF Western Pennsylvania Chapter Hosts TypeOneNation Summit For Local Families
Event aimed at helping those living with Type One Diabetes
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In conjunction with National Diabetes Day, JDRF – the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research – is hosting the Western Pennsylvania TypeOneNation Summit, presented by the Allegheny Health Network Center for Diabetes, Saturday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Carnegie Science Center, 1 Allegheny Ave, Pittsburgh.
The event includes sessions on topics on the latest advancements in T1D research and treatment, the Artificial Pancreas Project, diabetes burnout, picky eating, communicating with school staff, T1D and pregnancy, teens and T1D, legacy planning, the Americans with Disabilities Act, among other topics.
The Summit will offers socializing opportunities, vendor and healthcare provider exhibits, research experts and educational sessions designed for members of the T1D community at every age and every stage.
Cost is $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors (65+) and $5 for children 17 and under, and includes access to sessions, research update, lunch, and admission to Highmark SportsWorks and the Carnegie Science Center following the event. Register at www.typeonenation.eventbrite.com.
