NATCHEZ, Miss., July 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In advance of the city's massive tricentennial celebration in 2016, Natchez is thrilled to announce an official partnership with renowned tourism development firm Jennifer Barbee Inc. The first partnership of its kind in the industry, JB Inc. will help plan, develop and implement the momentous year-long event.
JB Inc. and team will lead efforts to raise funds, solicit corporate sponsors, create signature events and draw national attention to the city's three hundred year anniversary. With the continued rebound of the tourism industry, the event will focus on growing traveler interest and offer remarkable attractions for visitors.

The tricentennial will revolve around 12 themes crucial to Natchez history, including Civil Rights, the Women of Natchez and the Antebellum South. Ongoing annual events will include the Great Natchez Balloon Race, the Food & Wine Festival and the Spring and Fall Pilgrimages. Other proposed events include a celebrity golf tournament, a Civil War-themed mud run and a Beer, Biscuits and Bourbon Festival.
The tourism board voted unanimously to hire JB Inc. for the project. Helmed by marketing expert and tourism legend Jennifer Barbee, the group has previously worked with the state of Mississippi, Panama City Beach and Huntington Beach, among dozens of other destinations – and has been featured in the New York Times, Ad Age and USA Today.
