As part of its EFB program across its fleet of Airbus aircraft, Peach will use a full suite of digital Jeppesen flight operations data, including navigational charts, navigational databases for aircraft avionics systems and flight planning services. The airline is also able to import routes from multiple data sources, including flight planning systems and third party apps, to provide the right information to the pilot at the right time in support of flight preparation and execution. Using these digital tools will help Peach operate more efficiently, will reduce fuel consumption based on eliminated paper flight material weight and will increase pilot situational awareness on the ground and in the air.
"We salute Peach as one of the initial adopters of digital flight information and EFB services in the Japanese market," said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen FliteDeck Solutions. "We have teamed with Peach over several years to reach this point and we look forward to collaborating with them to further establish digital flight information across their operations."
Following the current trial period, Peach will coordinate efforts with the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau to gain full authorization to use EFB services to enhance planning efforts and in-flight operations, while eliminating cumbersome paper-based flight materials.
Peach operates a fleet of 17 Airbus 320 aircraft, serving 14 regional domestic locations in Japan and 10 international routes mainly from its Kansai airport hub in Osaka. For more information about the commercial air services provided by Peach, please visit www.flypeach.com.
