"This announcement is good for JetBlue, it's good for the Worcester region, and it's good for the Commonwealth."

JetBlue's Presence in New England

JetBlue's focus on growing service in the New England region is testament to the support of its communities. Serving the most destinations in the history of Boston's Logan, JetBlue offers more than 100 daily flights to 49 nonstop destinations throughout the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America, and plans to increase service to 150 flights over the next two years.

In the past year alone, JetBlue has been proud to invest in New England with a new maintenance hangar at Logan International Airport, the launch of service from Providence, Rhode Island with daily flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando and new nonstop service from Boston to:

  • Charleston, SC
  • Dallas, TX
  • Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
  • Houston, TX set to begin on July 25, 2013
  • Nantucket, MA
  • Philadelphia, PA set to begin on May 23, 2013

With the addition of Worcester to the airline's growing route map, JetBlue will serve eight cities in the New England region, including:

  • Martha's Vineyard, MA (MVY) *seasonal

"The Massachusetts Port Authority, working with the Patrick-Murray Administration, is committed to giving travel options to residents,'' said Transportation Secretary Richard A. Davey, who chairs the Massport Board. "This new service will provide the best alternative for residents of the I-495 corridor and west heading to Florida, as well as the most direct way for Floridians to enjoy all the heart of this state has to offer. Like Central Massachusetts itself, this airport is on the move."

"Massport means business in Worcester and we believe Worcester Regional Airport is an important asset that must be maintained as a commercial airport to provide Central Massachusetts with easy, convenient and safe access to the national airspace system," said Massport CEO Thomas P. Glynn. "Massport has worked closely with our Worcester partners to bring JetBlue here and to encourage corporate and general aviation – and the jobs these businesses create – to the heart of New England."

"It's always exciting to welcome a new airline and today's announcement is especially satisfying because the community came together and rallied behind this effort," said Massport's Aviation Director Edward C. Freni. "JetBlue's decision to come to Worcester adds a vote of confidence about the future that awaits this airport and air service in Central Massachusetts."
