Jibe Mobile Nominated for Telecom Council 2013 SPIFFY Award Chosen by the Telecom Council Service Provider Forum as "Ground Breaker for Engineering Excellence" SPIFFY AWARD Finalist
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Jibe Mobile (www.jibemobile.com), the global communications cloud company, today announced that it has been nominated by the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley's Service Provider Forum for the 2013 SPIFFY Ground Breaker Award for Engineering Excellence. Nominees are selected by the Telecom Council's Service Provider Forum (SPIF) from among over 100 startups representing the broad range of telecom products and services who were invited to present to the Telecom Council June 2012 through May 2013.
All companies which are invited to present at a Telecom Council meeting, have been identified as a promising telecom company. From among these, some young companies stand out for their innovation, market opportunity or quantifiable interest among the Council's 30+ global Service Providers including AT&T, British Telecom, DoCoMo, France Telecom/Orange, Swisscom, Verizon, Vodafone and many other fixed and wireless carriers from Europe, Asia, and North and South America listed on the Telecom Council website.
"Startups who are chosen to present to our SPIF are pre-qualified as companies with the ideas and relevance to motivate change in the telecom industry," said Liz Kerton, President of the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley. "This year we reviewed many outstanding startups and Jibe Mobile's communications cloud platform stood out for both its ground breaking vision and engineering excellence."
"Being nominated for the SPIFFY Ground Breaker Award for Engineering Excellence is a great honor and important recognition of the telecommunications industry's decision to embrace Jibe's cloud-based technology as the foundation for the industry's move to a globally connected IP mobile network," said Amir Sarhangi, CEO Jibe Mobile. "Leveraging the most advanced telecom industry standards—including GSMA joyn™ and RCS 5—with Jibe, carriers can give subscribers the ability to make video calls over any mobile network, group chat with friends, and make free VoIP calls by simply using Jibe's RCS mobile app to connect to Jibe's Global Communications Cloud.
Ground Breaker Award for Engineering Excellence
This award is offered to the company that has produced the most impressive technological advancements. These are the firms who have invested in R&D, and have turned the gears of progress through sweat, tenacity, and a Costco account for Jolt and Mountain Dew.
"Carriers need a ready-made, proven capability for delivering IP services to their customers and Jibe's platform is designed to work side-by-side with our customers' existing infrastructure so that there is no faster or more reliable way for them to launch joyn and RCS than with Jibe's Global Communications Cloud," said Elmar Weber, CTO Jibe Mobile. "As the leading hosted solution provider currently delivering live joyn services to consumers, interconnected with other joyn service providers, Jibe Mobile has the end-to-end product to significantly reduce both risk and time to market when delivering interoperable RCS services across mobile networks."
