SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- San Francisco Art Exchange (SFAE), in association with Mumm Napa, Jim Marshall Photography LLC, and Carlos Santana, announces Jim Marshall Seen Through The Eyes Of Carlos Santana, an exhibit curated by Carlos Santana to show Jim Marshall's genius as a photographer, a chronicler of history and portraitist of no equal. The exhibit opens November 21 at Mumm Napa (8445 Silverado Trail, Napa, CA, 94558) with a welcome reception from 6:30PM-8:00PM and is open to the public. Admission is $60/person. The exhibit is comprised of 40 original photographs by Jim Marshall iconic images of Santana and some of Carlos' favorite musicians (mentors and great influences to Santana). The exhibit coincides with Mumm Napa's limited release of Santana Savor, a luscious wine inspired by the music of Carlos Santana. The label features a photograph of Carlos taken by Marshall and personally chosen by Carlos to represent the wine. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Mumm Napa's Santana Savor Limited Release Wine goes directly to Carlos Santana's Milagro Foundation, which benefits underserved and vulnerable children in the areas of education, health, and the arts.
Marshall and Santana met in 1965 through the Santana Blues Band's road manager. The manager asked Jim to do a favor and take a photo of the band. Jim agreed, and that was the start of a lifelong friendship. Jim always said that Carlos seemed to bring out the humanity in him: "I love the guy and he plays the guitar like nobody else."
