Joele Frank Announces New Leadership Appointments

NEW YORK, Aug. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher, a leading independently-owned financial public relations and investor relations firm, announced today new leadership appointments.  

Matthew Sherman, partner, has been named president, effective immediately.  In this new position, Mr. Sherman will help lead the firm's marketing efforts, participate in the day-to-day management and help set the strategic direction of the firm.

Andrew Brimmer and Daniel Katcher, two of the firm's founding partners, have been appointed vice chairmen. As vice chairmen, Messrs. Brimmer and Katcher will help set the strategic direction of the firm.

Joele Frank, the firm's founder and managing partner, will continue in her role.

Mr. Sherman has more than 17 years of experience providing strategic corporate, financial and crisis communications counsel to Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams of public companies and private equity firms.  He has advised on numerous transactions and special situations, including negotiated mergers and acquisitions, hostile takeovers, proxy contests, defense against activist shareholders, spin-offs, business reorganizations, financial restructurings, management changes, litigation matters, regulatory actions and a wide range of corporate crises.

In 2012, Mr. Sherman was named to The M&A Advisor's "40 Under 40" list, and in 2007 he was named to PR Week's inaugural "40 Under 40" list.  He is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and regularly participates in M&A and corporate governance conferences around the country.  He began his career at Abernathy MacGregor Frank.  Mr. Sherman received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, and a B.A. in international relations and a B.A. in communications from the University of Pennsylvania.
