John Foy & Associates Offers College Scholarship
Georgia law firm promises $1,000 "Strong Arm" scholarship to students who have been affected by leukemia
ATLANTA, Sept. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Georgia-based law firm John Foy & Associates announced the offering of a new scholarship for college students who have been affected by leukemia—either as a patient or a loved one. The firm, known as the "Strong Arm of Georgia," will award $1,000 to a high-achieving college student affected by leukemia.
"We are honored to be a part of this brave community," said firm founder John Foy. "We started this scholarship to raise awareness of the issues that face leukemia patients and their family members."
Leukemia is the most common cancer in children and teens, and it's one of the most diagnosed in adults. Often, the battle is a solitary one, isolating the patient and family. Children who have survived leukemia face lingering side effects, and children who have watched a loved one suffer have also faced great adversity.
"We are a tough Georgia law firm that will fight to the finish for our clients, but our associates know that not every battle is fought in the courtroom," said Foy.
The "Strong Arm" Leukemia scholarship is open to students who are enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Dec. 15.
