WESTPORT, Conn., Dec. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- First Aviation Services Inc.'s Senior Vice President Joshua Krotec was recognized by the editors of Aircraft Maintenance Technology magazine as a "40 Under 40" Next Gen Award recipient. The annual award is presented to individuals for their contributions to the aircraft maintenance industry. The award validates Mr. Krotec's substantial efforts on behalf of the entire aviation maintenance and repair industry to bring needed reform to the Department of Defense sustainment programs. Mr. Krotec serves as the Legislative Affairs Chairman for the Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) and is a leading advocate of opening the billions of dollars of sole source DOD contracts to full and open competition. First Aviation Services Inc. earlier in the year received the MRO of the Year Award, Military Center of Excellence, from Aviation Week and Space Technology for the company's purchasing reform efforts in which Mr. Krotec was highly instrumental.
Aaron Hollander, Chairman and CEO of First Aviation, said, "We are very proud of Mr. Krotec and his determination to see real reform come to the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. We believe that only through full and open competition will we be able to fund needed defense modernization during these times of tight budgets."
