Juhl Wind, Inc. Announces Startup of Construction on $3.6 Million Wind Project for Winona County Minnesota
WOODSTOCK, Minn., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Juhl Wind, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: JUHL), the Leader in Community Wind Power, today announced that it recently began construction on the 1.5 MW wind system for Winona County, MN. The project will cost approximately $3.6 million and is expected to be completed by the end of 2010. The Winona County project is one of the first sites in North America to utilize two Unison, direct-drive wind turbine generators – a leading technology based on an advanced, gearless system.
"The Winona County construction is the first of a handful of projects we will be building in the second half of 2010 and early part of 2011," stated Dan Juhl, CEO of Juhl Wind. "This project represents a rapidly growing area of our business where we develop wind systems for local communities, and institutions like hospitals, colleges and universities. These customers recognize that we have the knowledge and capabilities to get these smaller projects built quickly and put into service. The startup of construction was made possible by our ability to put together a win-win, financial structure that worked for our trading partners and the community."
"We expect all of the revenue from the Winona project to be recognized in 2010," added John Mitola, President of Juhl Wind. "Winona is one of the initial but important pieces of our revenue puzzle for this year. We will be providing more news in the near future on our other 2010 projects as we initiate construction."
