Jury in Prolift Vaginal Mesh Trial Interrupts Deliberations To Have Claimant's Testimony Read Back to Them, Rottenstein Law Group Reports
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Feb. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The jury in the bellwether Prolift vaginal mesh trial in New Jersey Superior Court has interrupted its deliberations to have the court reporter read back the testimony of Linda Gross, the claimant who alleges that the mesh implant she received in 2006 severely injured her.
In Mrs. Gross' testimony—read aloud today at the jury's request by the court reporter at the trial of Gross' case against Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon unit for injuries allegedly caused by the Prolift vaginal mesh kit (Gross v. Gynecare Inc., Atl-L-6966-10, Superior Court of Atlantic County, New Jersey)—she explains the condition she received the Prolift mesh implant to cure, what she relied on when she made the decision to have Prolift surgery, how the Prolift changed her life for the worse, and why she believes her injuries were caused by the Prolift. The jury's request to have the court reporter read a transcript of Gross' testimony suggests that at least juror is interested in Gross' account of the facts.
As the first of the 1,800 Prolift vaginal mesh cases in New Jersey Superior Court to go to trial, this case will affect the expectations of thousands of other vaginal mesh injury claimants. The verdict the jury renders in this case has the potential to affect the outcome of the hundreds of other Prolift vaginal mesh cases pending in New Jersey Superior Court.
As a representative of women who claim they've been harmed by vaginal mesh products, Rochelle Rottenstein, the Rottenstein Law Group's principal, implores women who believe that they, like Linda Gross, have been hurt by vaginal mesh products to call the Rottenstein Law Group's offices for a free evaluation of their ability to file a lawsuit right away.
"We're encouraged by the fact that the jury is close to rendering a verdict in Linda Gross' case, and we look forward to helping many of the thousands of other women with vaginal mesh injuries recover compensation," Rottenstein says.
The Rottenstein Law Group's website about vaginal mesh injuries and lawsuits describes all of the issues vaginal mesh patients face and explains their options.
