Just Between Friends Expands from Coast to Coast, Helping Local PTA Groups Stay in Contact More Efficiently
PITTSBURGH, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Just Between Friends, a sponsor-supported system that strengthens membership-based groups and simplifies the lives of their members, today announced that it has successfully expanded its platform into Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) at local schools from coast-to-coast, throughout the continental United States.
From Maine to California, and from North Dakota to Florida, Just Between Friends has actively connected parents of school-aged children at schools with a combined total of more than 2.5 million households and three million students, helping them form communities that allow them to be more involved in their children's education. In less than a year, PTA groups have begun using "Just Between Friends" at more than one out of every 25 public schools throughout the country.
"The more I'm working with Just Between Friends, the more I'm loving it," said Sharon Mullen, secretary at Herbert Akins Elementary School in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. "I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to use it. Because this is a new school, many people feel disconnected and I think this is a great way to bring the community, businesses, churches and schools together."
By implementing Just Between Friends, the local PTAs have begun taking advantage of the easy-to-use, comprehensive system that is already being used by the national PTA as its official volunteer management system. Overwhelmingly, people who have used Just Between Friends to communicate with their local PTA members have praised its ease of use and effectiveness.
"By using Just Between Friends to create our directory, we saved time, effort and money. And we had fewer errors due to typos than any other directory we've created in the past. Just Between Friends has made creating our directories a simpler task than I could've ever imagined," said Mary Beth Lee, Directory Chair at the Hill Elementary PTA in Austin, Texas.
"We first started using Just Between Friends to create our directories -- it was so easy," said Heather Herbay, Co-President of the Lincoln Elementary PTA in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. "Then, we started using it to communicate with our parents -- and again, it was so easy. Now, Just Between Friends is also used by homeroom parents and even some teachers. The more we all use Just Between Friends, the more ways we think of using it."
Just Between Friends is designed to help organizations, such as PTA groups, communicate more effectively, while maintaining the personal privacy so important to families. Local group leaders can correspond directly with their members, either through group e-mails or individually. Individual calendars can also be created, allowing members to quickly view upcoming meetings and other activities.
From creating directories, member lists or rosters, to communicating with your community and volunteer management, Just Between Friends handles the full range of communications through a single, easy-to-use browser interface. From ensuring that users have access to important group information, to reminders for key personal and group events, to special tools optimized for parents and ways to save money, Just Between Friends is designed to be easy to learn and fun to use, while placing a top priority on family privacy.
"We are pleased by the rapid acceptance that Just Between Friends has achieved among PTA groups throughout the United States," said David Radin, Just Between Friends' president. "It is especially gratifying to know that they share our commitment to keeping people better informed. In addition, we continue our discussions with PTAs that serve millions of other parents and students, and anticipate the continued rapid adoption of our system, especially as we head into the coming school year."
