GLENS FALLS, N.Y., May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- JUST water, the ethically sourced 100% spring water in a paper-based bottle, is expanding its distribution in Oregon through a new partnership with Point Blank Distributing.
Like JUST, Point Blank values innovation, and strives for the highest quality products and partners. The leading Oregon distributor launched in 2003, and represents some of the most distinguished breweries and unique brands in the industry.
JUST water is disrupting the current bottled water market by responsibly sourcing, and producing and packaging for improved environmental and social impact. JUST's new and improved bottle now has increased renewable resource content – from 53% to 82% – by using plant-based plastic derived from sugarcane in addition to its existing FSC-certified paper. The updated JUST water bottle creates up to 74% less greenhouse gas emissions than traditional PET plastic bottles and will be on shelves in summer 2016.
JUST's 100% spring water is from the Glens Falls watershed in Upstate New York where water is abundant. An ethical trade revenue partnership with the city of Glens Falls is revitalizing the local community by paying six times the municipal rate for access to less than 3% of its excess water. This appreciable revenue over time helps to upgrade aging water infrastructure, while the business model itself is restoring industry, providing jobs and protecting the watershed.
"JUST is thrilled to be expanding further into the Pacific Northwest with a group that shares our beliefs," said Grace Jeon, JUST CEO. "We take partnerships to heart from our community, retail and our distributor partners who do so much of the heavy lifting in the market. And to find the ideal partnerships in each market takes time. Shared values and trust are critical in building an impact business. We are blessed to be aligned with Point Blank Distributing who value quality, innovation and building meaningful relationships, and we know this will be a sustaining partnership."
"At Point Blank, we seek unique products and brands which serve evolving consumer expectations, particularly for increased sustainability. JUST water addresses such needs, and we are looking forward to making an impact in our market with JUST water," said Cameron Steen, Point Blank's Nonalcoholic and Specialty Products Brand Manager. "JUST is a different type of company producing bottled water in an unprecedented way."
JUST water is currently available nationally at Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Albertsons/Safeway, New Seasons and other fine retailers, at a retail price of $0.99 for a 16.9-ounce carton. The price point is deliberate to ensure JUST water is accessible to everyone.
Headquartered in Glens Falls, New York, JUST aims to create optimism and economic value through operational innovation and delivering disruptive products at affordable prices. A diverse group of impact investors, artists, and members of the science and innovation community came together to form JUST and support the launch of its first product, JUST water. JUST water is 100% spring water sourced from the Glens Falls watershed in the Adirondack Mountains. For more information, visit www.justwater.com.
