K12 Inc. Reauthorized to Continue as State Approved Online Provider in Virginia
HERNDON, Va., Jan. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- K12 Inc. (NYSE: LRN) announced today it has been reauthorized by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to continue as an approved multidivision online learning provider in the state of Virginia.

An oversight committee at the VDOE recently concluded its monitoring review process of K12 in Virginia and the Superintendent of Public Instruction approved K12's continued status as an authorized provider for school divisions in Virginia.
K12 was one of the first online learning providers to be approved in Virginia following legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2010 establishing criteria designed to ensure that Virginia students receive high-quality online education services and courses aligned with state standards, and online instruction provided by licensed teachers.
In partnership with school districts, K12 operates the Virginia Virtual Academy – a multidivision online public school serving students across the state. K12's courses and academic solutions are also used by other schools and school divisions in Virginia for full-time and part-time online education programs.
