Partners with advocate Trade Chile, underscoring mutual commitment to long-term growth
SANTIAGO, Chile and WALDWICK, N.J., Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. businesses looking to launch or expand in Latin America will gain an extra in-country advantage starting September 1 with the opening of the new U.S. Regional Trade Center (USRTC) in Santiago, Chile.
The 6,000 sf premium office space is located on the 11th floor at Av. Vitacura 2969, next door to the U.S. Embassy. It was formally unveiled by owner Kallman Worldwide on August 13 to a preview gathering of U.S. diplomatic and business VIPs, including The Honorable Michael Hammer, U.S. Ambassador to Chile, and many of their Chilean counterparts, including Trade Chile, an advocate for the host country's international business development, particularly with the United States.
Kallman, organizer of the U.S. presence at trade shows around the world for more than half a century, has been operating as an advocate for U.S. export marketing in Latin America for 23 years. The company is particularly well known in Chile as organizer of the U.S. International Pavilion at the biennial FIDAE Air Show in Santiago. Most recently, Kallman's Latin America office, which is adjacent to the USRTC, introduced the International Fairs of Technology (IFT) event series featuring IFT ENERGY, IFT MODERN MINING and IFT AGRO 2016.
In remarks during the preview event, Ambassador Hammer welcomed the USRTC and Kallman to "the neighborhood" and to the greater U.S. "Look South" initiative to expand sales to Chile and 10 other Free Trade Agreement (FTA) partners in Central and South America. He recognized the presence of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Commercial Service, American Chamber of Commerce, the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade Chile and CIE Chile at the USRTC preview as a testament to the scale of the opportunity, the strong partnerships that support it and the attention to details that will help U.S. companies gain an extra competitive advantage in the growing regional marketplace.
The USRTC builds on Kallman's cumulative experience and deep local government and industry relationships to help U.S. companies establish a successful, permanent presence in the region.
"When Latin America buyers and decision-makers look for leadership and innovation in their businesses, we want them to think of the U.S. Regional Trade Center first," said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO, Tom Kallman. "That's why we designed this professional, multi-purpose office environment to function as a year-round international trade event focused on the companies that work here. Our entire 11th floor space features quality amenities to support the purposeful exporting of U.S. equipment, products and services. And we're adding a schedule of professional education programs and networking activities to help our tenants become fluent experts in how to conduct business in this part of the world," he said.
The concept of the USRTC as a learning space to promote international cooperation attracted the attention of Trade Chile leaders, and is a central idea behind a new partnership between their organization and the center. Trade Chile Executive Director, Jaime Bazan, expressed his support for the center as a business community space where companies from Chile and the United States will gather to share ideas, success stories, opportunities and common challenges. He said Trade Chile would be an active partner with Kallman to develop the USRTC as an innovative, practical model for international trade partnerships.
Individual offices in the USRTC range in size from 100 sf to 250 sf, and most have panoramic views overlooking Santiago and the Andes mountains. The space includes shared meeting areas, reception desk and balconies, and are supported by convenient business services including hi-speed internet, office equipment such as printers and copiers, and indoor parking options.
