A graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Dr. Woods pursued Neurosurgery training at Loma Linda. He also completed an enfolded fellowship in Complex Spine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. During that time, Dr. Woods learned from world-renowned Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery spine surgery mentors.
Dr. Woods has a singular interest in reformative healthcare. He is deeply driven to help redefine the accepted norms for the way in which healthcare is delivered. His philosophy of care is patient-centered. He says that, "Patients deserve more! My goal is to create an immersive experience for spine patients."
In practice for five years, Dr. Woods has become a global leader in cutting-edge spine care. He trains surgeons around the world on new, innovative spine procedures. Dr. Woods is considered an expert on the oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) procedure. He is involved in an international study looking at this new procedure which holds promise to make a significant impact on the field.
Dr. Woods was previously the Director of the Spinal Center at Loma Linda University Medical Center- Murrieta. (LLUMC-M) He has received a number of awards for his commitment to excellence and for the high level of care he has rendered to thousands of patients. Dr. Woods was recently recognized as one of "America's Most Honored Professionals" in healthcare. He was also voted as a "Top 10" Neurosurgeon in his region.
Inducted into the Expert Distinguished Doctors Network, Dr. Woods is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), and North American Spine Society (NASS).
He is an avid golfer and also enjoys traveling with his beautiful wife, Loredana, and their two children.
