Managing Proper Analyst Disclosure Under Reg FD
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kansas City Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI-KC) is pleased to present Brian Turcotte, vice president of investor relations for Office Depot, as guest speaker at its November 15 chapter meeting. The meeting, which begins with registration and cocktails at 5:30 p.m., will be held at 801 Chop House, 71 East 14th Street in Kansas City, Mo.
Turcotte will offer NIRI members an inside look at the consequences of violating Regulation FD. Office Depot was recently sanctioned by the SEC for selectively conveying to analysts and institutional investors that the company would not meet analysts' earnings estimates. Turcotte will share with attendees what triggered the SEC investigation, what the examination process entailed, and how to avoid any chance of an SEC violation by your executives when talking with analysts and investors.
As Vice President of Investor Relations for Office Depot, Mr. Turcotte manages the company's global IR function. He joined the Office Depot investor relations team in August of 2007. Prior to that, he was an equity analyst covering North American, European and Latin American forest products companies at Xylem Global Partners in New York. Before joining Xylem, he spent more than 20 years with International Paper in various management positions. Mr. Turcotte earned joint bachelor's degrees in engineering from the State University of New York at Syracuse and from Syracuse University, and an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business.
