MILL VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kantola Training Solutions announced today that their workplace harassment training meets California's Senate Bill 396. Signed by Governor Jerry Brown, SB 396 extends protection to workers who face harassment or discrimination based on their gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. This is in addition to Kantola's training also covering California's AB 1825 and AB 2053.
This expansion of the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) means that employers in the state with 50 or more employees will need to ensure that these regulations are integrated into their existing two-hour training requirements on sexual harassment as currently required by California's AB 1825 and AB 2053 regulations.
"We are thrilled to see this important statute signed into law by Governor Brown," said Allen Noren, CEO of Kantola Training Solutions. "Harassment, discrimination and bullying are never acceptable, and it's important that states like California are providing more tools for individuals who may be the victims of this sort of behavior to effectively defend themselves, or stand up for others."
"To that effect, I am also proud to say that the 2-hour interactive eLearning versions of two of our courses, Harassment: Sex, Religion and Beyond, and Training for a Harassment-Free Workplace), already meet or exceed these updated standards for California harassment training, and our upcoming harassment course for 2018 will do the same," Noren added.
Kantola Training disrupted the workplace training market in 1985 with engaging and award-winning video-based training at prices that any business could afford. Today, Kantola continues to release award-winning courses that encourage real learning through modeling good behavior and demonstrating positive examples. Kantola's library of compliance training is available at kantola.com.
