HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company Sdn Bhd (KPOC), a joint-operating company of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd, ConocoPhillips (Sabah Gas) Ltd and Shell Energy Asia Ltd, has selected Intergraph® SmartPlant® Enterprise for Owner Operators (SPO) and other SmartPlant Enterprise solutions for its Kebabangan Cluster gas fields project offshore Sabah, Malaysia. KPOC will use Intergraph technology to identify data discrepancies, enabling it to take corrective action early. The implementation of this information management system will establish consistent engineering information formats across all contractors involved in the project.

KPOC selected Intergraph's SmartPlant Enterprise solutions, including SPO; Validation, Transformation and Loading (VTL); SPO Operating Plant; SmartPlant Instrumentation and SmartPlant P&ID. SmartPlant Enterprise will be deployed enterprise-wide at KPOC with the Intergraph system hosted centrally in Kuala Lumpur and users can access it from the project site in Sabah. The integrated SmartPlant Enterprise portfolio will support KPOC's business processes and facilitate change management to enhance project execution.

Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company Sdn Bhd (KPOC) was incorporated on November 6, 2007 under the Companies Act 1965. It is a Joint Operating Company formed under the terms of the Kebabangan Cluster Production Sharing Contract dated December 31, 2007.
KPOC was appointed the operator under the Kebabangan Cluster Joint Operating Agreement to conduct petroleum operations on behalf of the Production Sharing Contractors offshore Sabah, Malaysia.
