Rendon, who grew up in a small town in Kern County, California, is hoping his novel "The Vallie" will guide others who have faced an abusive and challenging childhood

Rendon, who resides in Lamont, CA, has just penned his first novel, entitled The Vallie, an autobiographical novel spanning the author's early childhood to today. The Vallie recounts the hardships of running away to a safe home with his mother and two older siblings to escape an abusive father.

The story reveals Rendon's tough upbringing and how he lied to become popular in high school. Life's mistakes force him to face reality, experience emotional and physical breakdowns in both personally in his relationships, and cope with two gory deaths in the family.
