Kevin Hogan Appointed New Executive Director of the Investment Program Association; Sees Dramatic Growth Potential for Direct Investments
WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Investment Program Association (IPA), the national trade association representing non-traded, direct investment programs, has announced that Kevin Hogan has joined the organization as Executive Director.
In his new role at the IPA, Mr. Hogan will help set strategic direction for the organization, manage operations, and oversee the IPA's membership-driven committee structure. Founded in 1985, the IPA focuses on advocating direct investments through education. The IPA's members include most of the major direct investment program sponsors together with their selling organizations, broker/dealers, and professional associates in law, accounting and other services. Direct investment programs include oil and gas/energy partnerships, equipment leasing partnerships, managed futures firms, non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs) and limited liability companies.
"Research recently commissioned by the IPA shows that independent financial advisors include direct investments in their clients' portfolios to broaden diversification, deliver predictable income, reduce risk and provide stability," said Mr. Hogan. "A majority of the independent financial advisors surveyed expect to increase the use of direct investments in their clients' portfolios moving forward given current market volatility. The growth potential for direct investments is significant, and the IPA will be at the forefront of advocacy, collaboration and education for this segment of the industry."
Mr. Hogan has more than 30 years of experience across a diverse range of financial services responsibilities, including product development, strategic planning and sales/marketing management. Prior to joining the IPA, Mr. Hogan was Senior Vice President, Product Development and Marketing for LPL Financial, where he was responsible for brokerage product sales and marketing including annuities, mutual funds, alternative investments, retirement plans and cash products. Previously, he held senior management roles with Scudder Investments, CNA Insurance Company and Metropolitan Life.
"Kevin has been a highly successful executive on both the broker/dealer and product sponsor sides of the business, which, in his role of Executive Director of the IPA, gives him a unique ability to assess the needs of product sponsors as well as the broker dealers that offer direct investments," said Jack Hollander, chairman of the IPA's board of trustees. "We are very pleased to welcome Kevin to the IPA, and are confident that he brings the experience and leadership capabilities necessary to lead the organization into the future."
The Investment Program Association (IPA) was formed in 1985 to provide the direct investment industry with effective national leadership. Over the years, the IPA has successfully championed the growth of these investment products which have increased in popularity with financial professionals and investors alike. Today, the IPA is the leading advocate for the inclusion of direct investments in a diversified investment portfolio. The mission of the IPA is to advance the unique benefits of direct investments.
