NEW YORK, July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Maintaining its long-standing tradition of supporting HIV/AIDS charities, Kiehl's Since 1851, the New York-based skin care company, announces a continued partnership with amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.
HIV/AIDS awareness has long been at the forefront of Kiehl's philanthropic efforts, and through partnerships with amfAR, the Magic Johnson AIDS Foundation, and YouthAIDS, Kiehl's has donated more than $1,000,000 to the cause.
To heighten awareness and raise funds for amfAR, the company is embarking on the second annual Kiehl's LifeRide for amfAR, a seven-day charity motorcycle ride, July 31 - August 6, 2011 throughout the Northeast. With stops at five freestanding stores along the way, Kiehl's will make donations totaling $75,000.
Inspired by Kiehl's history with motorcycles, spirit of adventure, and philanthropic heritage, the ride will be led by Chris Salgardo, President, Kiehl's USA and Alain de Cadenet, Le Mans racer and ESPN "Speed Channel" host, with notable motorcycle enthusiasts including Jason Lee, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tyson Beckford, Tricia Helfer, Justin Chatwin, Katee Sackhoff, Teddy Sears, Christopher Redman, and Marguerite Moreau.
Kiehl's will also introduce Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream, a new version of its customer favorite, featuring a special motorcycle motif. Available at Kiehl's stores nationwide and Kiehls.com, 100% of Kiehl's net profits from the sale of this product, up to $25,000, will benefit amfAR.
Customers can also support LifeRide by donating $10 to amfAR with your cellphone. Text LIFERIDE to 80888 and reply YES to confirm. Depending on your carrier agreement, message and data rates may apply. Your $10 donation will appear on your regular monthly phone bill.

"From our inception, it has been Kiehl's mission give back to the communities in which we do business," said Chris Salgardo, President, Kiehl's USA. "I'm humbled that as a company, we not only raise funds for amfAR, but we get personally involved with the cause, and as a motorcycle rider, I'm personally delighted to lead the ride and truly grateful for the generosity of each participant. It is an honor to spread amfAR's message and celebrate their 25th anniversary. It is also incredibly meaningful to end this year's ride at our Flagship store in our 160th year of business."
"Kiehl's has been a valuable and longtime supporter of amfAR's vital research work, and the funds raised through the Kiehl's LifeRide will bring us that much closer to finding a cure for HIV and AIDS," said amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost. "We're thrilled to be partnering with Kiehl's on such a unique event."
