SEOUL, South Korea, March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The 29th Korea International Medical and Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES 2013) was being held at COEX from March 21st to 24th. KIMES(Korea International Medical and Hospital Show) 2013 took place at first & third floor of COEX Exhibition center, as scale of 36,007m(2).
KIMES 2013 was to be held at first & third floor of COEX Exhibition center, as scale of 36,007m(2)., co-hosted by KOREA E&EX, Korea Medical Devices Industrial and sponsored by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea Food & Drug Administration, Seoul, KOTRA, Korea Health Industry Development Institute, Korean Medical Association, Korean Hospital Association, Korean Medical Women Association, Korean Nurses Association, Korea Medical Selling Association and Digital BOSA, etc.
KIMES 2013 was attended by 1,015 companies from 37 countries including 467 domestic manufacturers and 106 from the U.S., 89 from China, 79 from Germany, 59 from Taiwan, 57 from Japan, 25 from Italy, 18 from Switzerland are to attend. Exhibiting over 30,000 items consisting of high-tech medical and hospital equipment, hospital information system and medical associated equipment.
Especially, all the foreign and domestic representative from well-known companies were participating: Samsung, DK Medical Solution, LISTEM, JW Medical, Medien International,Alpinion, HDX, GE, Philips, Siemens, Shimadzu, Fuji Film, Jowon Medical, Biospace, Hanshin Medical, BIT Computer, LG U+, JVM, DS Maref, and Stratek.
During the exhibition, 60,000 domestic visitors and 2,500 foreign buyers from 70 countries were expected to visit for the purpose of export consulting. The amount of sales was estimated to come to 4.9 hundred millions(USD) and domestic sales meeting was estimated to gross to 1.5 trillion(USD). These numbers showed the proof of the improvement in exports and reconfirmed the excellence of Korean products.
Main booth display consisted of 169 companies in medical examination and diagnostic equipment industry, 49 ones in clinical laboratory tester, 65 in radiation instrument, 89 in treatment associated equipment, 199 in rehabilitative medicine and physical therapy devices, 89 in hospital equipment and emergency preparation, 16 in ophthalmology equipment, 35 in dental equipment, 32 in central supply equipment, 32 in hospital central supply equipment, 44 in oriental medical devices, 185 in dermatology and health-care and a lot of other companies in pharmacy, medical component, hospital service and medical products. They were to show the current trend of medical environment.
And the exhibition halls were organized for visitors to look around conveniently. Hall A on the first was for treatment and medical information, Hall B for healthcare and rehabilitative products, Hall C on the second floor is for medical examination and diagnostic equipment, Hall D for diagnostic and hospital equipment. Also, special exhibition place for medical equipment components which were getting more attention was located at Hall A4.
About 110 seminars such as 'Medical Equipment Policy and Practice Seminar', 'Medical Industry and Technology Seminar' and 'Global Trade Conference' would be given at COEX Conference center. In addition, associated seminars including Radiological technologists international conference, Seoul physiotherapists conference, Medical Equipment Trial Center conference, 'Special Lectures for Professional Doctors', ones by medical journals(Doctor's News, Digital BOSA, Bokuen News and Docdocdoc) and Doctorstory were expected to provide highly important information to both doctors and those related with the medical industry.
Local governments in Wonju, Gyungsangnam-do, Daegu and others also jointly participated. Medical associations like Development Centers and Medical Treatment Engineering Departments of universities, Cheonbuk National University Hospital, Samsung Seoul Hospital and Wonju Clinical Trial Center could interact and share information with each other.
Pavilion was attended by Japan, China, Taiwan and Pakistan as well as Germany, U.S., Hungary and other countries that had not. The countries were expected to give information specified in each country. Also, The European Union Healthcare and top Medical Technology companies were invited for technical information exchange. Sourcing Missions for Russia, Indonesia and Vietnam provided export consulting chances. The President of Mongol Medical Engineering Department and related officials were invited to have a chance to see Korea's advanced medical technology.
Particularly, KIMES 2013 has consecutively been awarded for six years as 'Korea Global Top Exhibition' by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. To attract more foreign buyers and present KIMES 2013 as more of a global event, Korean government encouraged inviting foreign representatives or journalists related to the medical industry. By supporting part of the travel expenses and having them attend, domestic companies had more of an opportunity to profit more from consultations with foreign buyers during KIMES 2013.
KIMES secretariat placed 'Free Translation Center for Foreigners' at the every entrance of exhibition halls for foreign buyers. And it also ran a free shuttle bus from Tancheon, Songpa parking lot to COEX for providing convenient transportation.
