Kitchen Dads Wants to Get More Dads and Grads in the Kitchen
Founder of Kitchen Dads Cliff Pelloni wants to teach people the basics of cooking and have fun in the process
ATLANTA, March 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Less people are cooking these days. They dine on fast casual; order take out or eat meals at home which come out of a box.
"It's not for the lack of desire, but for the lack of skill," says Cliff Pelloni, founder of Kitchen Dads Cooking and he wants to change this.
"You use to learn how to cook from your family members and maybe got a primer at school. Not any longer. Kids graduate high school and college today with extremely limited knowledge and skills in the kitchen," Pelloni said.
"There's an abundance of recipes available online but most but most assume a certain level of competence to complete. Many people don't even know how to hold a knife correctly."
Grads aren't the only ones who need help, more dads are now responsible for meal planning and cooking.
"Many Dads can grill but have limited skills in the rest of the kitchen. I want to teach them some basic cooking skills and help rescue mealtime."
Kitchen Dads started with instructional YouTube videos on cooking and recipes but quickly turned into more.
"I was getting requests from my YouTube audience for a book, so I wrote, Kitchen Dads The Basics to give people a reference on the basics of cooking. It's full of information but not overwhelming. Cooking should be fun, not frustrating."
Kitchen Dads The Basics covers the essentials of cooking including pantry staples, equipment, basic knife skills, common cooking terms, shopping tips and more. It's also has over 90 easy-to-make recipes.
