Kohler Announces 'Adventure Getaway Weekend' With 'Girl Hunter' Georgia Pellegrini
Limited spots now available for April 3-6 outdoor adventure weekend for women
KOHLER, Wis., Feb. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Destination Kohler, home to Kohler Co. and The American Club – a 2014 Forbes Five-Star Recipient and the Midwest's only AAA Five-Diamond resort-hotel – is pleased to announce celebrity chef, author and "girl hunter" Georgia Pellegrini will host her next signature "Adventure Getaway Weekend" for women April 3-6, 2014, at Destination Kohler in Kohler, Wis.
This ultimate girls' weekend – where Annie Oakley meets Carrie Bradshaw – is an intimate opportunity for guests to bond with Pellegrini, take in the five-star Destination Kohler experiences and most importantly, have fun. To purchase a spot for the "Kohler Adventure Getaway Weekend" with Pellegrini, women should register online at www.americanclubresort.com/events/adventure_weekend.html.
Pellegrini, author of the books "Girl Hunter" and the soon-to-be-released "Modern Pioneering", teaches outdoor skills for women – such as bird hunting and fishing – with a fun and modern approach. After beginning her career in investment banking on Wall Street, Pellegrini was inspired to make a job change and became a chef, developing a special interest in farm-to-table and re-embracing her love of nature.
"Self-sufficiency is the ultimate girl power," writes Pellegrini, whose latest book serves as a cookbook, and a backyard and homesteading guide for women who want to grow food efficiently, cook seasonal recipes or even try foraging, camping and living off the land.
"There is a lot that I love about the Adventure Getaways that I've been doing over the last two years, but my hands-down favorite thing is watching women come together from across the country, meet each other for the first time and leave at the end of the experience as lifelong friends," Pellegrini said. "I have been amazed to see how many different types of women have had a desire to come on these adventure trips with me, from all age ranges, to experience life more viscerally and challenge themselves to experience new things. Destination Kohler has that rare, magic combination of elements that make these events so special, unique and memorable."
The April 3-6 "Kohler Adventure Getaway Weekend" with Pellegrini at Destination Kohler is open to women of all experience levels, from newbies to seasoned veterans of the outdoors, but the group size will be kept intimate. It's a great opportunity to come solo and meet new people, or to plan a girls' trip.
The weekend will take advantage of the many experiences throughout Destination Kohler, from outdoor activities to culinary delights and ultimate spa relaxation. Scheduled activities include trap shooting, bird hunting (including cleaning), fishing, hiking and cooking class with Pellegrini, as well opportunities to enjoy the five-star Kohler Waters Spa, highly acclaimed for its innovative hydrotherapy experiences. Pellegrini will also hold a fireside chat with attendees, complete with craft beer, KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates, s'mores and more.
Pellegrini and weekend attendees will stay at The American Club, the five-star historic hotel in Kohler, further creating a special bonding experience for participants.
"We are thrilled to welcome Georgia Pellegrini for a special 'Kohler Adventure Getaway Weekend' in April," said Michael Belot, General Manager of Destination Kohler. "Destination Kohler offers a wide variety of outdoor activities year-round, including all of the activities Georgia will be taking participants through, as well as our signature spa and wellness offerings at the Kohler Waters Spa. It is the perfect retreat for the modern woman who loves to enjoy the outdoors, try new things and get her hands a little dirty – with a relaxing spa treatment or good glass of wine to follow."
