KSF Orthopaedic Center Welcomes Neil Dunleavy, MD and Timothy Miller, MD to Group
Physicians add to KSF's Comprehensive Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Program
HOUSTON, Sept.12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The orthopedic and sports medicine specialists of KSF Orthopaedic Center, P.A. welcome two new physicians to the group - Neil Dunleavy, MD and Timothy Miller, MD - expanding the scope of specialized services the group is able to provide the NW Houston community.
Dr. Dunleavy specializes in orthopedic sports medicine, advanced arthroscopic hip surgery, "all inside" arthroscopy-assisted ACL reconstruction and rotator cuff repair, as well as cartilage preservation and fracture care. Dr. Miller specializes in injuries and conditions of the foot and ankle - including sports injuries, cartilage, ligament and tendon injuries as well as fractures, deformities and arthritis.
According to the founder of KSF Orthopaedic Center, Andrew Kant, MD, the addition of the physicians will enable the now 10-physician group of orthopedic sports medicine and surgical specialists to meet the growing needs of an expanding northwest Houston community.
"We're pleased to have Drs. Dunleavy and Miller join our group and contribute to the high caliber of care we've been providing to the community for nearly 40 years. Their areas of specialization complement our comprehensive scope of services and expertise," said Kant.
Graduating with honors, Dr. Dunleavy obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Columbia University St. Luke's- Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, where he also received the Department Research Award for his work on cartilage engineering performed at The Columbia University Department of Biomedical Engineering. He obtained fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he also trained in the most advanced, minimally invasive techniques for surgery of the hip, shoulder and knee.
"I'm excited to offer patients with hip pain a new, less invasive hip preserving arthroscopic surgery, which is reducing recovery time and improving outcomes," said Dunleavy, who assisted and trained under the team physicians for the NFL Chicago Bears while at the University of Chicago.
"When possible, I encourage my patients to explore nonsurgical treatment methods before considering surgery, as nonoperative measures are often successful. We're also trained in the latest, minimally-invasive techniques available when conservative methods fail to relieve pain," added Dunleavy.
Dr. Miller obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. He then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Greenville Health System in Greenville, South Carolina, and his Fellowship training in Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts - where he also served on the staff as an assistant in Orthopaedic Surgery.
"I feel that the foot and ankle are underserved in the field of orthopedics and look forward to using the latest and most up-to-date training and technology to help patients gain the confidence of a fully functioning foot and ankle," said Miller.
The physicians are members of esteemed orthopedic organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopaedic Association and Harris County Medical Society.
They will provide services at both KSF locations - 17270 Red Oak Drive and 18220 State Highway 249 (Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital).
The KSF Orthopedic Center represents a group of board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic and sports medicine specialists who are deeply rooted in the northwest Houston community.
