Latin American Leasing Trends, Lease Accounting Changes to Be Highlighted at Conferences by The Alta Group

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Conferences sponsored by The Alta Group Professional Development Division in November will explore Latin American leasing trends and proposed lease accounting changes affecting asset finance companies worldwide.

The conferences, which will feature well-known industry leaders, will be held on consecutive days at the Hotel Intercontinental at Doral in Miami, Florida. Both conferences will provide simultaneous English and Spanish translation.

The II Latin American Seminar on Lease Accounting November 17 will feature an interactive workshop led by lease accounting expert and author Shawn D. Halladay, principal of The Alta Group. The workshop will highlight provisions of the proposed lease accounting changes, including numerous examples.  The session will focus on lessee market impact and the implications, challenges and opportunities for lessors of implementing the lease accounting standards being proposed by the IASB.

The VIII Latin American Leasing Conference November 18 and 19 will cover critical issues affecting the Latin American leasing industry and provide opportunities for business contacts with colleagues, potential funding sources and industry vendors. The annual event has become an important meeting point for leasing industry leaders and associations throughout Latin America.
