"The incredible support we are receiving from these sponsors is a true testament of their understanding of the growth and impact Latinos are having in our country," said Ana Roca Castro, founder of LATISM. "We are extremely proud to have these top brands and entities join us as we bring hundreds of the most influential Latinos together to discuss issues of vital importance to our country. We would not be here without their support."
The conference includes a powerful lineup of local and nationally renowned influencers and experts hailing from private, public, and nonprofit organizations. The LATISM conference offers more than 20 different discussion panels focused on the 2016 theme- Latinos as Change Agents in Education, Health, Civic Engagement, Policy, Technology, Business and Diversity & Inclusion. In addition, LATISM is hosting El Hackathon and The LATISM S.T.E.A.M. Fair.
For the second consecutive year, LATISM is hosting a 48-hour hackathon, 'El Hackathon' event in which genius Latino hackers build innovative solutions that transcend our industry. Attendees will witness the final winners of the El Hackathon and see demo of their creations.
Also, in its second year, the conference will include the 2016 LATISM S.T.E.A.M. Fair that brings together 2,500 kids (grades 5th to 12th grade) from 150 high schools across the United States who come to showcase the contributions of the new generation of Latinos to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. One winner from each field will be awarded a scholarship prize from one of our participating sponsors.
LATISM empowers the community by building relationships and facilitating the needed connections to ride the tech wave; through today's new media channels and the community building that occurs at our annual conference we aim to uplift, promote and connect key players to further their causes, careers and advocacy work.
