Launch of 'MIPDoc Online Screenings', The Biggest Video Library of New Documentaries

PARIS, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- New for 2010, the MIPDoc international documentary programme market is launching MIPDoc Online Screenings. This innovative online service offers buyers the possibility to prepare ahead of time and optimize their presence in Cannes thanks to advanced access to the full catalogue of MIPDoc 2010 programmes. At the close of the market, this service will further allow buyers to continue to screen full-length versions of all the 1,350 documentaries and factual programmes that were on show in Cannes.

Since 15 March, the on-line catalogue has enabled registered buyers to compile playlists of programmes that they wish to screen on-site and to add their own notes, reviews and ratings. Upon arrival in Cannes, buyers will find their playlist and all the additional information on their selected programmes when they access the screening facilities.

From 12 April, after the market closes, the 'MIPDoc Online Screenings' will offer MIPDoc buyers access to free-of-charge catch-up screenings of all the documentaries that were showcased during the event. This new initiative will extend the two days of screenings at MIPDoc into a year-round, on-line service.

For producers and distributors, MIPDoc Online Screenings allows their programmes to benefit from greater visibility. They will also be able to access statistics on the use of the service and monitor the number of views their productions have attracted.

Industry executives not accredited at MIPDoc can also make use of the service by paying for access.

MIPDoc takes place on 10 and 11 April in the Hotel Martinez in Cannes. This specialist market preceeds MIPTV, the international entertainment content market, which runs 12 to 16 April at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
