Launch of New Mary Square Philanthropic Program Creates World-Wide Impact
Five & Two Program Leads Consumers to Gift with Purpose
CARY, N.C., Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mary Square, a gift company specializing in unique, affordable and trendy products, is making a world-wide impact with the launch of its new Five & Two program, a philanthropic initiative that provides resources to people in need through its new corporate partnership with World Help.
Mary Square's Five & Two program comprises four initiatives to bring hope and healing to impoverished people around the globe. They include:
Five & Two Marketplace – One hundred percent of all profits from Five & Two Marketplace, a designated portion of Mary Square's retail web site comprised of approximately 150 items, are donated to World Help to provide clean water to third world communities around the world.
Square It Up – Mary Square online shoppers now have an opportunity to round up to the nearest dollar during the purchase process on Mary Square's website. Proceeds go directly to World Help.
Shop the Square – A percentage of each Mary Square wholesale order is donated to World Help to drill deep water wells around the world.
Squared Away – Two Mary Square employees will visit Uganda as part of a World Help international mission team in 2016.
"Our Five & Two program is an initiative we've dreamed about since the company formed in 2011. Our partnership with World Help turns a Five & Two dream into reality by providing life-saving resources to communities around the world," said Kelly Shiley, chief executive officer of Mary Square. "Our desire is to see Mary Square retail and wholesale customers gift with purpose and make a long-term impact in lives of those less fortunate."
The Five & Two program is named after Jesus's parable of multiplying five loaves of bread and two fish to feed thousands. Similarly, Mary Square's goal is to invest in people, and allow that investment to multiply.
"We're excited to welcome Mary Square as a World Help corporate partner," said Noel Yeatts, vice president of World Help. "The Five & Two program showcases a wonderful style of servant leadership, and we are looking forward to increased opportunities to serve the physical and spiritual needs of people in underprivileged communities around the world."
Mary Square is in the process of setting 2016 donation goals for its Five & Two program and plans to share progress regularly via www.MarySquare.com.
