Laura Kramer Joins Staff at Minnesota Dental Association
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Minnesota Dental Association has hired Laura Kramer as Director of Government Affairs. Kramer will begin her new position on January 9, assuming responsibility for monitoring and managing all legislative activities affecting the practice of dentistry and dental patients.
At the MDA Kramer will be involved in advancing the Association's policy positions through development of grassroots networks and implementation of legislative policy directives. Of particular focus in 2012, the MDA will work on legislation related to regulatory and licensing issues and continue to work with a broad coalition of Minnesota provider associations to advocate for greater transparency and accountability for managed care health plans that administer state health programs.
Kramer previously served as Scheduler for Governor Mark Dayton, where she was responsible for developing and directing the Governor's statewide schedule, including public appearances, press events, stakeholder meetings and briefings. In the position she provided support for the Governor's strategic vision and mission by generating outreach opportunities, while maintaining high volumes of public and private relationships and managing diverse and dynamic situations.
Previously Kramer worked at the Minnesota House of Representatives as Legislative Assistant for Rep. Tina Liebling and Rep. Patti Fritz, gaining valuable experience with Minnesota's legislative process by providing support that included constituent correspondence and coordination of materials for Health Care Access Commission working group meetings. Prior to that, she was a consultant at Accenture, a global management consulting, technology and outsourcing company.
Kramer holds a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the University of Iowa. She resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
