WELLESLEY, Mass., Nov. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- After practicing law in Boston for 27 years, John B. Harkavy, has opened his own practice, The Law Office of John B. Harkavy in Wellesley (www.harkavylaw.net).
Recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine in 2011, '09 and '06, Harkavy's firm will focus on civil litigation involving medical malpractice, products liability, personal injury, general commercial litigation, employment issues, real estate disputes, as well as appeals.
Prior to establishing the new firm in this western Boston suburb, Harkavy was a partner with Bernkopf Goodman LLP, where he headed the firm's personal injury and commercial real estate brokerage sections.
He is well known for employing aggressive prejudgment remedies, such as attachments and injunctions that have resulted in significant legal victories while avoiding lengthy and costly litigation. Additionally, Harkavy has mediated numerous cases resulting in multi-million-dollar client victories without the necessity of a trial.
During his career, Harkavy successfully represented two clients in wrongful death suits resulting in settlements in excess of $1 million.

He is admitted to practice in all Massachusetts state trial and appeals courts, U.S. District Court of the District of Massachusetts and The First Circuit Court Of Appeals.
He graduated from Brown University with a bachelor-of-arts degree in 1979.
Harkavy lives in Wellesley with his family. He continues to play tennis competitively, having played tennis for Brown University, and is an avid golfer.
