Law Offices of Chavez and De Leon, P.A. celebrates Premier of Diego Luna's "Cesar Chavez: An American Hero"
MIAMI, March 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As A.O. Scott wrote in the New York Times,"Though Cesar Chavez, who died in 1993, has been honored and celebrated, the problems he addressed have hardly faded away. The rights of immigrants and the wages and working conditions of those who pick, process and transport food are still live and contentious political issues."
Today, we celebrate a movie which documents the life and struggles confronted by one of the Great Americans of the 20th century who chose to live his life for the betterment of all workers in this country. "The movie which includes a depiction of the relationship between my law partner Fernando and his father inspires us to continue to live our lives in ways that contribute to each other," said John de Leon of the Law Offices of Chavez and De Leon P.A. "One way to honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez is for this nation to pass comprehensive immigration reform." The Law Firm also supports the efforts of the Cesar Chavez Foundation of designating Cesar Chavez's birthday as a National Day of Service. The petition to do so can be found at www.chavezfoundation.org.
