L.B. Foster Opens Innovative Water Well Threaded Products Facility

PITTSBURGH, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Pittsburgh, PA-based L.B. Foster Company (NASDAQ: FSTR), has completed the relocation of its Threaded Products water well group from Houston to a new facility in Magnolia, Texas. The move expands L.B. Foster 's ability to supply agricultural, municipal and industrial customers with quality tubular products.

The Magnolia plant utilizes advanced technology and has extended operating hours to increase production capacity to accommodate the addition of new Oil Country Tubular Goods threading services. "The new facility provides our production team with single flow manufacturing that expedites the movement of pipe through our threading process," said Merry Brumbaugh , Vice President, L.B. Foster Tubular Products. Precision Okuma threading equipment assures the production of threaded pipe that meets the most exacting customer specifications.

The new facility is strategically located adjacent to L.B. Foster 's joint venture operation, LB Pipe & Coupling Products, LLC. "It will now allow us to coordinate product inflow and outflow  more efficiently with LB Pipe to assure our customers receive timely orders of column pipe," said Gary Foerster , General Manager Sales, L.B. Foster Tubular Products.

The new Magnolia site totals 40 acres and accommodates product storage and future growth. The company has moved its experienced team to the new plant north of Houston and will be hiring new employees. The L.B. Foster Threaded Products facility is API 5L, API 5CT and API Q1 Licensed and ISO 9001:2008, ISO 29001 Registered.

L.B. Foster Company had supplied customers with quality water well products for more than 30 years from its original Langfield Road plant in Houston. This facility had become outdated because of zoning restrictions and growth limitations. The new facility is located at 21270 FM 1488 in Magnolia, Texas.
