LearnQuest Introduces "New Type" of Entrepreneurial Education; ESBM Certificate Program Combines MBA and Vocational Training Learning Models
BALA CYNWYD, Pa., May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LearnQuest, a leader in providing continuing education to America's top corporations, is introducing a new type of entrepreneurial education designed to make it easier for more people to be successful business owners.
The Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (ESBM) is a unique and comprehensive certificate program, which provides current small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs the practical skills and knowledge necessary to grow profitable businesses, according to LearnQuest.
"It's a hybrid approach, combining the best elements of a traditional executive MBA program and the hands-on approach of vocational training," says Yuri Schneiberg, a principal in LearnQuest and executive director of ESBM. "Because of its relative affordability and accessibility, it creates opportunities for a broader audience of current and future business owners."
"The program is also uniquely distinctive because it is designed by working entrepreneurs for aspiring entrepreneurs," says Schneiberg. "And our faculty is selected not only for their academic credentials but also for their real-life experience in running successful businesses."
The ESBM is 336-hour program composed of a core curriculum which includes 10 courses and an Entrepreneurship Workshop. Each course in the core curriculum is 27 hours, and the Entrepreneurship Workshop is a total of 66 hours. Incorporated into the workshop are 12 one-on-one coaching sessions with an experienced executive coach. Among the many topics the curriculum covers are: the impact of economic policies on the small business; negotiation strategies; managerial accounting, market research; marketing strategy and branding; leadership and management skills; hiring and retaining quality employees; ways to avoid litigation; leveraging technology; PR strategies; financing options; and exit strategy.
The average student will complete the program in 10 months and receive an official ESBM certificate.
"Our students believe the certificate is important," says Schneiberg. "But first and foremost they come to us to get proper skills so they can go out and run a successful business. That's the most important goal here."
"The ESBM program is for leaders who recognize that acquiring the most relevant education can be a powerful competitive advantage for their businesses," Schneiberg says.
The ESBM, which is fully accredited by the Accrediting Council on Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), will begin classes in September at LearnQuest headquarters. Spaces remain open for new students. For information, go to www.learnquest.edu, e-mail information@learnquest.edu, or call 877-206-0106.
