Legacy Republic Creates 250 Jobs in Two Months, Announces New Staff and Advisers with Experience from Stella + Dot, Tupperware, Rodan+Fields and Creative Memories
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Just two months after its launch, Legacy Republic has achieved a milestone: over 250 people in 30 states have signed on as Legacy Makers. These new Legacy Makers can earn an income while educating others about the importance of photo album and video digitization. In addition to this growth, the company is announcing Brian Knapp as Head of Legacy Republic, Scott Halversen as Head of Field Development, and Sandy Chang as Product Development Lead. Mark Bosworth, Eric Hackman and Genevieve Skory also joined the Legacy Republic advisory board this month.
"The interest we're seeing in Legacy Republic shows that America is ready for this new wave of entrepreneurism. Companies like Uber and Stella & Dot have seen great success because many folks want to take more control of their lifestyle and income, and be their own boss. They want to make their own schedule and set their own goals. Legacy Republic lets these micro-entrepreneurs do that, and also provides a real mission: saving our family memories," says Brian Knapp, Head of Legacy Republic. At this rate, he expects to have over 1,000 Legacy Makers by the end of year, and several thousand joining in 2015.
Brian Knapp will continue to serve as Chief Revenue Officer of YesVideo while taking on this new role. Previously, Knapp was General Counsel and Vice President of Business Operations at Loopt, which was acquired by Green Dot Corporation in 2012. After graduating cum laude from University of San Francisco's School of Law, Knapp provided legal counsel for numerous companies, first as an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He also held senior business development roles at Barnes & Noble.com (IPO, Goldman Sachs) and AllBusiness.com (acquired, NBCi).
As the Head of Field Development for Legacy Republic, Scott Halversen leads business growth initiatives and develops training programs and promotions for the overall success of the Legacy Makers. Previous positions with Tupperware and Rodan+Fields Dermatologists have prepared Mr. Halversen to help launch this new direct-selling mission-driven marketplace. With an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, and an MBA from Rollins College, he brings 20-plus years of experience in sales, field development, marketing, strategy, training, business intelligence and operations. Mr. Halversen has overseen growth on a national level with sales forces in the 10,000s of thousands generating yearly revenues of $300M+.
As Product Development Lead, Sandy Chang is Legacy Republic's founding team member who has driven this idea from inception to launch. Chang oversees product strategy and roadmap, design, development, consultant tools, and both online and offline sales materials and resources. A Cognitive Science Major at UC Berkeley with years of Product Management experience at @WalmartLabs & Stella and Dot, she has been with YesVideo, Legacy Republic's parent company, for nearly two years.
"Almost everyone has an old box of memories sitting in their garage or attic waiting to be unlocked. However, many people tend to put off the digitization process until it's too late - after time has taken its toll, or a natural disaster completely destroyed them," said Sandy Chang, who has helped design Legacy Republic based on her own family's experience. "Legacy Republic provides a personal way for people to reach out to their friends and family to help them move their memories to the cloud. Many people don't know what the cloud is or how it works, and these Legacy Makers simplify it for their customers, and walk them through the entire process from start to finish."
Legacy Republic also announces the first members of its advisory board: Mark Bosworth, Eric Hackman and Genevieve Skory.
Mark Bosworth brings decades of experience in the direct selling industry, having held executive positions with Tupperware, PartyLite, and The Body Shop at Home. A graduate ofUniversity of Chicago's Booth School of Business, he now serves as Principal of his firm, Bosworth Consulting.
A graduate of the California Institute of Technology, Eric Hackman currently serves as Director of Digital Product Management at Rodan+Fields. In this position, he has centralized and built out the company's product management function, including integrated design, research, engineering, and product management. He also developed the concept for the Rodan+Fields iPhone app, and initiated the company's first dedicated user research initiatives. Hackman is a co-organizer and Board member of the San Francisco chapter of Action Design Network, a nonprofit organization that brings together designers, developers, entrepreneurs, economists and others who are passionate about helping people create positive change in their lives.
Genevieve Skory shares years of passion in memory preservation for families and brings extensive experience in the direct sales industry. Most recently, as Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Ahni & Zoe by Creative Memories, she specialized in developing and implementing strategies and creative approaches to driving sales success.
Knapp and his team estimate that 90 million families across the country have collectively stored an estimated two billion non-digital video units and photo albums in their homes.
These family memories, often poorly stored in attics and garages, are at risk of loss to fire or natural disasters and degrading in quality every day. This growing team of Legacy Maker consultants across the country will educate Americans about the importance of media digitization while enabling them to make a profit in the process. With $6 million in funding and additional operational support from parent company YesVideo, Inc., Knapp and the team of Legacy Republic will be able to provide all the tools and training for candidates looking to supplement their income with flexible work hours.
Legacy Republic leverages YesVideo's core digitization technology and decades of experience. For over a decade, over 8 million customers have already trusted YesVideo to transfer vintage media formats and preserve their favorite family memories in the cloud.
