Let GJEL Be Your Designated Driver on St. Patrick's Day

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The tail end of a festive holiday is a dangerous time to get behind the wheel of a car. In recent years, almost two out of three traffic fatalities in the early morning after St. Patrick's Day were caused by drunk driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. To keep roads safe, the California personal injury firm Gillin, Jacobson, Ellis, Larsen, and Lucey (GJEL) is inviting anyone in the San Jose metro area or Tri-Valley metro area to participate in the Drink and Alive Free Cab Ride Program.

"Some say it's better to be lucky than smart. We say, why choose?" said GJEL partner Andy Gillin. "Regardless of how you celebrate the luck of the Irish this St. Patrick's Day, make the smart decision to take a cab ride home. It's on us."

The program is simple. Pay for the cab upfront, and GJEL will reimburse the cost. Participants must be 21 or older. The offer is valid for a single one-way ride to a safe destination within the San Jose metro area or the Tri-Valley area of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, and Danville. Rides starting on Thursday, March 17, at 12 p.m. and ending Friday, March 18, at 10 a.m. are eligible for reimbursement up to $30. One reimbursement per household is allowed.

Mail the cab receipt, a copy of the recipient's valid driver's license, and a note with a PayPal-linked email address by March 25, 2016, to:
