LG Expands Certification, Training Programs With AIA Continuing Education Credit Course
VRF-Focused Course Offers Architects Insight on Complex Technologies
ALPHARETTA, Ga., Aug. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Advancing its position as an HVAC industry leader, LG Electronics USA is launching a new training program on Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology, a comprehensive online course in which American Institute of Architects (AIA) members have the opportunity to earn AIA Continuing Education System credit.
Offering a high-level look at VRF technology, the training session examines modular condensed physical construction of the equipment and the energy-efficient nature of VRF system, which offer architects substantial space saving advantages and potential LEED points.
"LG is committed to keeping the industry up-to-date on new technologies and techniques," said Kevin McNamara, vice president, Commercial Air Conditioning, LG Electronics USA. "As an international HVAC manufacturer, LG has seen how VRF technology has influenced Europe and Asia, and we look forward to bringing the best practices to the U.S. market."
In addition to unparalleled energy efficiency benefits, VRF systems are flexible and adaptable, using little to no duct work alongside smaller equipment and ducts, giving architects reduced weights for structural considerations, more options for day-lighting and a wide range of aesthetic indoor units for a fully realized vision without the need for roof cut-outs, machine rooms, cooling towers, pumps and operators.
AIA members can register for this free web session by visiting the LG website and registering online at (https://reg.abcsignup.com/view/view_month.aspx?as=4&aid=LGELEC&wp=3), using the registration code LGAIA1.
