LG Hosts 'For The Love Of Baking' Bake-off Event To Benefit Local Schools And No Kid Hungry

TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading home appliance manufacturer LG Electronics is hosting a bake-off event this weekend benefiting local schools, as well as charitable partner No Kid Hungry^®. Held outside of Pacific Sales Kitchen, Bath & Electronics in Torrance on Saturday at 10 a.m., the "For the Love of Baking" event promises hands-on, professionally led product demonstrations and a friendly, interactive cookie-baking competition to celebrate the launch of LG's new ranges with ProBake Convection™ technology, a groundbreaking innovation that helps consumers bake like professionals in their own kitchens.

Open to the public, the bake-off event will feature contestants from Torrance's Edison, Victory and Hickory elementary schools, all flexing their baking muscle using LG's new 7.3-cubic-foot double oven electric range (Model LDE4413ST) in a challenge to create the tastiest cookie. The competition will be judged by both the public and a panel of four judges, with the ultimate winner being crowned on-site.

In addition to the LG "For the Love of Baking" victor winning $5,000 for his or her school, LG will also donate $5,000 on the winner's behalf to No Kid Hungry, a campaign of anti-hunger organization, Share Our Strength that connects children in need with nutritious food and empowers families across the country to cook healthy, affordable meals together.
