LG WebOS 3.0 Receives UL Verification For Smart Home Readiness
Newest LG SMART TVs Verified for Interoperability with IoT Devices
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics' third-generation webOS 3.0 smart TV platform being unveiled at CES® 2016 has been verified by leading global testing and certification organization, Underwriters Laboratory (UL), for its compatibility with Internet of Things (IoT) devices in the home.
LG's webOS operating system has already earned a reputation as one of the industry's most intuitive smart TV platforms. Now, with a proprietary new IoTV app, LG's 2016 SMART TVs featuring webOS 3.0 will deliver smart home management functionality, allowing them to control many LG smart appliances as well as other compatible IoT products.*
Once connected, LG's SMART TVs with webOS 3.0 will be able to display the status of a user's various smart appliances, thereby acting as an interface between users and their devices. Through the TV, users will be able to control specific home appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners or washing machines that are connected to the internet. Through the IoTV app, homeowners will be able to adjust the brightness of the lights in the room or change the temperature setting of the air conditioner with just a touch of a button.
